Progress Report, in which it’s already November

It’s Monday, so it’s time to file a progress report.  Of course, I just filed one on Friday, so I’m left with reporting on the last two days.  This won’t take long.

I thought writing that new scene for Petra would be the major hurdle for this part of the rewrite, after which, I could get rolling a little.  Not so much, as it happens.  The opening still needs to cut to the chase much faster than it currently does, which means that a lot of important exposition needs to be either jettisoned and worked in later, or made more interesting.  And guess what?  It ain’t easy.  I’ve effectively climbed one wall only to run smack into another.

Not exactly an encouraging way to begin a novel rewrite.

It’s gotta get easier at some point, I tell myself.  Doesn’t it?

Gotta bust some pages this week, folks.  It’s November already.  Yikes!  When did that happen?

Write Club update:  Another tier one bounce from an agent on a query for The Watermasters.
