Progress Report, in which I learn from history

So that little side project I mentioned last week?  Took longer than I thought it would.  Shocker, I know.

But it’s done.  And here’s a little Magic Meter to mark the moment:

Hey, cut me a little slack here.  It was an essay, for one thing—not my strong suit.  And a humorous essay, at that.  Dying is easy; comedy is hard, you know?  Plus, I was trying to squeeze two disparate bits into one piece without making either one feel forced.  That took some doing.  I must have started the damned thing half a dozen times before I figured it out.

So you see, I really was working.

Not buying it, eh?  Yeah, me neither.

That’s all right.  I’m quite glad to have it off my plate, so that I can hit the rewrite of “The Winter Palace.”  And after that . . . well, if recent history has taught me anything, it’s that I shouldn’t get ahead of myself.  So I won’t.

See?  I can learn.

No updates for Write Club.

Rock on.
